As part of the fantastic Platinum Jubilee celebrations last month, our home’s residents and staff came together and excelled themselves by making and covering the home in all sorts of colourful and patriotic decorations.

The home looked great, thanks to some superhuman efforts to complete a variety of DIY art & craft projects in time for the Jubilee weekend, such as colourful paper chains hung around the home’s ceilings, appealing red guards made from plant pots and an impressive Queen’s board.

Everyone was very impressed, including The National Activity Providers Association, more commonly known as NAPA, the UK’s leading activity and engagement charity. NAPA organised a competition to discover which care home had made the best Jubilee decorations. Inglewood entered the competition, and although the home didn’t win, NAPA sent back a lovely certificate for taking part.

Sara Mason, Inglewood’s head of activities, had this to say: “We may not have won the £1000 prize money in the NAPA Jubilee competition, but we were still very proud of our certificate from NAPA, and of the huge effort made by our residents and staff to make the home look patriotic for this very special occasion.”
