In December we were lucky enough to have a visit from Pet Pals Therapy who brought along call ducks and call duck crossed with mallards and one Indian runner (aged between 3 1/2 to 5 years old).

Call ducks were traditionally bred to be noisy so that when they were taken out hunting they would attract wild ducks. One pair called Romeo (green and grey) and Juliet (brown).

They all went straight to the water first when put in the pen – cold water doesn’t put them off! Residents enjoyed stroking them and watching them splash about and laughed at how noisy they were.
