Resident Phyllis recently turned 80, and we sure celebrated in style!
Phyllis joined Inglewood in April 2015, she was very poorly after a severe stroke and had also stayed in Eastbourne District Hospital for a short time.
Just over three years later all gathered together to celebrate her 80th birthday with her lovely family and friends. Phyllis had said a year ago that she wanted an 80th party with prosecco and that’s what she got!
The chef rustled up a lovely afternoon tea and cake for us all to indulge in! Phyllis’s sister Mary said, “It was two hours of pleasure, with so much help from the kind staff, who even brought the Manager’s two kittens in at the end which, for a cat-lover like Phyllis, was a super bonus.”
“It is a tribute to the excellent care she has had in Inglewood over the last three years that Phyllis was well enough to enjoy her party for this big milestone which, to be honest, I could not have imagined her reaching when we brought her in.”
Twenty adults and four children (Phyllis’s great-nieces and -nephews) filled the living room at Inglewood, and all had a wonderful time with lots of singing and cheers too!
Happy Birthday Phyllis!
